Workshop Description
The USU Restoration Consortium has partnered with the NRCS West National Technology Support Center and the BLM Aquatic Resources Program to develop a standardized Low-Tech Process-Based Restoration (LTPBR) training series.
This course is part of CEWA 5624 — Implementation of Low-Tech Process-Based Restoration — for NRCS and BLM employees to meet LTPBR Level 2 training requirements.
Participants new to LTPBR will get an introduction on Day 1, and everyone will work on construction projects Day 2 near Sisters, OR.

Day 1 — July 23, 2024
Classroom Session
- 1:00–5:00 pm: Introduction to LTPBR
- 6:30 pm: Dinner + evening talk with rancher Jay Wilde’s story

Field Gear
This is a hands-on workshop with hiking and in-stream work. Closed-toe shoes are required. Recommended:
- sturdy work clothing
- layers, hat, sunglasses, gloves
- water bottle
- sunscreen and insect repellent
- a change of dry clothes
- wet-wading shoes or boots
Basic PPE (gloves, eye protection, hard hats) will be provided.
If you have medical conditions or allergies we should know about, please notify your instructor.

- Day 1: Dinner provided
- Day 2: Bag lunches, snacks, and drinks provided (bring your own breakfast & coffee)
There will be vegetarian and gluten-free options; other dietary needs, please plan ahead.
